Kindergarten Field Trip to McKinney Falls State Park
Rewind ten years...
Mama Melissa goes jogging at McKinney Falls State Park when she happens to jog upon ( I mean literally jog upon) a huge RATTLESNAKE! Fortunately, she survives the scary encounter without a bite and receives only a few minor cuts and scrapes from having leapt off the track and into the overgrown brush! Now, fast forward to present day...
Meredith's teacher announces that they will be taking a field trip to McKinney Falls State Park ... to look for spiders. "To look for what?" I ask. "Spiders," she repies. It seems that the time has come for Mama Melissa to face her fears & return to McKinney Falls after vowing never to set foot there again. Not only must she face her fear of rattlesnakes, but now she must actually go on the trip with the intent of looking for spiders. Gulp.
Our first spider spotting & it is on the lunch table! Good times...

Girls Weekend at Lost Pines
ROADTRIP! Meredith, Mommy, & Bella decided to check into Hyatt Lost Pines for the weekend! We had fun swimming ( in ice cold water!), eating lots of ice cream, playing in the sand, taking long walks, riding bikes, roasting marshmallows, eating smores (w/out chocolate~ you know how Meredith feels about chocolate), watching HS Musical 2, sleeping on a "heavenly" matress, eating breakfast in bed, and being silly! We can't wait to go back!
HPBS Homecoming 2008!
Games and snowcones and cheering, oh my! We had a great time at the carnival before Meredith cheered at the football game! GO, MEREDITH!
